CrazyHip Mamas Carnival: Favorite TV Show

by Meredith Efken

I’m trying something new–participating in a blog carnival. I’ve belonged to CrazyHipBlogMamas almost since I started Violet Voices, but I want to get more involved. Their weekly Carnival of the CrazyHipMamas seems like a good place to start.

The question for this week is “What was your favorite TV show as a kid?”

I blush to answer because the answer also reveals my first celebrity crush…

Knight Rider.

David HasselhoffAlas, ’tis true. My little friend and I (we were about upper elementary at the time) thought David Hasselhoff was the most fabulous thing God ever created. Although, I must say…I think I was equally in love with K.I.T.T., the car. I joined the fan club, even! Got the signed photo and everything. Oh my goodness, my parents must have been despairing of my good taste.

Hmm…Well, at least K.I.T.T. was worth swooning over.

Okay, ‘fess up, all. What were your favorite shows?

(Thanks to The Knight Rider Archive for this terrific shot of my main squeeze.)

    Woo-whoo! I’m first.

Meredith, I was a big Knight Rider fan, too, although there was no crush involved! A-Team was pretty cool, but I can’t watch the reruns. How did we all think that show was so great?

  2. Gina:

Loved the show, don’t recall being “in love” with the guy!

  3. Meredith Efken:

Come on, guys, cut me some slack. I was like 10 or 11 I think. Young enough that I still thought Kool-Aid tasted good, too! :)

Meredith, I loved this show too! And yes, I think it was a boy and his toy — who wouldn’t want a man with KITT?!

    Here via the Carnival!

I actually dated a guy that was obsessed with making his red trans am just like Kit. He put a computer in the dash and everything. Yes, it was 1983! He was way ahead of his time and yes, he was more into his car than me!

  6. Amy:

At nine or so, I, in the company of all of my friends, was obsessed with The Dukes of Hazard.

We also listened to Shaun Cassidy a few years before that.

Confession is good for the soul…..

  7. Pattie:

    The Monkees in reruns. *sigh*
Oh, and Greg and Peter Brady. :)
